The defining feature of the UTEQ500 is the Shape knob, the key behind its chameleon-like flexibility. The control sounds simple enough on paper: It lets you blend between peak and shelf-type shapes for each of your frequency bands. But in practice, you can accurately and easily recreate every shape, curve, and quirk of almost any 3-band EQ on the market. Want the scooped-mids sound of classic tube EQs? No problem. Along with a Boost and Cut mode, the UTEQ500 also offers a Notch mode for even more tonal variety. This mode not only lets you notch out a desired frequency, but turning the Gain control to 10 reverses the phase of that frequency. This selective phasingﾗcoined Vari-Phase by UnderToneAudioﾗis perfect for blending multiple inputs on a single source, allowing you to flip the phase in only the select frequency range to craft the perfect sound.
