8ch set with microphones for indoor ambience recording in 3D-Audio Set contains: CB ORTF-3D, 4*CCM 41 L, 4*CCM 41V L, 4*WMS, 8*SGC, 8*K 5 LU

The Schoeps ORTF-3D Indoor Set is a complete 8-channel microphone bundle designed for recording indoor ambience in 3D-Audio using the ORTF-3D technique. It utilizes a square array with 18cm between the capsule centers. The mics provide high directivity and consistent directionality across their frequency range for accurate imaging and natural tonality.

The ORTF-3D Indoor Set includes eight miniature supercardioid mics (four CCM 41 LG end-address mics and four CCM 41 V LG side-address mics), one CB ORTF-3D mounting bar, four WMS foam windscreens, eight K 5 LU LEMO to XLR adapter cables, and eight SGC stand mounts.

Schoeps CCM 41 LG Supercardioid Compact Microphone (Matte Gray)

The Schoeps CCM 41 LG is a miniature supercardioid microphone with detachable cable. The design is a direct result of the demand for a compact capsule with the pick up of a shotgun microphone.

Off-axis sound is attenuated more effectively than that of a traditional cardioid polar pattern, and its frequency response is well suited for natural reproduction of vocals and instruments. The CCM 41 has slightly more roll-off at the low end due to the gradient effect, and is well suited as a "spot" microphone for orchestras, choirs, ambiance and more.

Supercardioid with highly consistent directionality throughout its frequency range Ideally suited for music and speech High directivity, comparable to that of a short "shotgun" microphone up through midrange frequencies Often preferred for use in film sound recording and as a spot microphone in orchestras Schoeps CCM 41 V LG Supercardioid Compact Condenser Microphone

The Schoeps CCM 41 V LG Supercardioid Compact Condenser Microphone is useful for music or speech, either as a spot microphone or as an overall directional microphone. This microphone is addressed from the side. It excels particularly in the constancy of its polar response throughout the audio spectrum. As a result, sound within 90º on either side of the main axis is picked up with virtually no alteration of frequency response or tone color. This is strongly evident with sound sources that are in motion, but is also of great benefit in obtaining stable, precise stereo imaging for normal music recordings.

The CCM 41V LG microphone is easy to use in near-coincident setups. It has the enhanced directional effect (from low to midrange frequencies) of any first-order pressure-gradient transducer. The response 90° off-axis is -10 dB. Also, the polar diagram is consistent at all frequencies, which means that regardless of its direction of origin, sound will be picked up free of unwanted coloration. For this reason, it is the preferred type of microphone for dialog recording in film and video sound, particularly indoors.

This microphone features a side-address supercardoid capsule and is preferred for use as a support microphone as well as in the OCT (Optimized Cardioid Triangle) microphone system for surround sound recording introduced by Dr. Theile (formerly at the Institute for Broadcast Technology).

This compact microphone consists of 2 main components, an acoustic transducer (capsule) and a microphone amplifier, which come together in the same body. The capsule is the component which converts sound waves into a varying electrical voltage. It determines the directionality and, for the most part, the sound quality of the microphone. The amplifier is the other main component, with the circuitry required to accept external powering, it polarizes (charges) the capacitive capsule, obtains the audio signal from it, and converts that signal into one which is balanced and low-impedance. The circuitry of the microphone features a balanced, class-A output stage which does not use either coupling condensers or an output transformer. This leads to low output impedance, insensitivity to electrical interference, low distortion, and light weight.

This microphone has a bass roll-off filter with a low cut-off frequency of 20 Hz and a slope of 12 dB/oct. This frequency has been chosen to protect against perturbing, almost inaudible low-frequencies (infrasound) that can be caused by ventilation systems, track vehicles, and wind. Although it is hardly noticeable, infrasound can cause strong audible distortions in the connected equipment when it leads to an overload. This would make it impossible to produce a recording that could be used. The audio range also only starts at around 20 Hz. Lower frequencies are only actually discernible at high levels which are only reproducible on few audio systems, and then quickly become unpleasant.

The CCM 41 V LG microphone is an electrically active component requiring a standard 48V power supply. Some equipment, however, provides a 12V supply for phantom powering, or can readily be modified for such a supply. The CCM compact microphone can work with either voltage, switching its circuitry automatically to the corresponding mode of operation. It maintains the same level of performance in either mode while drawing only the necessary amount of current from the phantom supply.

Supercardioid with highly consistent directionality throughout its frequency range Vertical (side-address) supercardioid capsule For a very wide range of recording applications High directivity up through midrange frequencies Often preferred for use in music and speech recording, as a spot microphone and also as a main microphone, especially when using the OCT recording method Designed for universal use Small and light Often preferred for use in film sound recording and as a spot microphone in orchestras Classic condenser microphone that does not require electronic frequency response correction Runs on both 12V and 48V phantom power supplies Can be used with very long cables—over 328' (100m) The Lemo disconnect allows for use of special accessories (some similar to Active components of the Colette Series) True condenser microphone that does not require electronic frequency response correction Balanced, low-impedance output via removable 16.4' (5m) cable, Lemo to XLR-3M connector Lateral pickup Matte gray non-reflective surface finish Schoeps WMS Foam Windscreen for Schoeps M/S Stereo Microphones

The Schoeps WMS Foam Windscreen measures 2.67" (68mm) in diameter and is intended to mount the Schoeps AMS 22 and UMS 20 M/S stereo microphones. The WMS windscreen is also suitable for M/S miniature microphone arrangements, such as the Schoeps RCY, SGMSC, HSGMSC. The Schoeps X/Y stereo microphone CMXY can be protected from mild wind as well.
