The BAE 1032 is a microphone preamp and four-band EQ module inspired by the classic Neve 1081. Built using high-quality Class A transformer-coupled circuits, the BAE 1032 takes the original 1081 to a whole new level. Think of it as a super-charged 1081 EQ with a 1073 preamp.
THE PERFECT COMBINATIONThe BAE 1032 uses the exact same passive inductor specifications as the original 1081. However, unlike the original Class A/B preamp module, BAE has equipped with 1032 with a high-performance Class A preamp based on the legendary 1073. For added versatility, the 1032 features expanded frequency options on the mid and high bands. The two bands now overlap, allowing you to create all new shapes by combining the mid bell curve with the high or low shelves for nearly limitless tone shaping possibilities.
ENDLESS TONAL POSSIBILITIESThe BAE 1032 features six large high-quality knobs for controlling gain and frequency selection. On the left, the light blue knob controls the high-pass filter, which has a fixed slope at 18 dB per octave and is switchable between 50 Hz, 80 Hz, 160 Hz and 300 Hz.
The four colored knobs control the gain of the low shelf, lower mid band, upper mid band and high shelf, while the exterior white rings are used to select the frequency of each band. The low shelf on the offers up to 16 dB of shelving with selectable frequencies of 35 Hz, 60 Hz, 110 Hz and 220 Hz.
The inductor-based lower mid band can be used to add or cut up to 18 dB using a peaking bell with an extensive selection of switchable frequencies at 220 Hz, 270 Hz, 330 Hz, 390 Hz, 470 Hz, 560 Hz, 680 Hz, 820 Hz, 1 kHz and 1.2 kHz. The upper mid band uses the same design with selectable frequencies at 1.5 kHz, 1.8 kHz, 2.2 kHz, 2.7 kHz, 3.3 kHz, 3.9 kHz, 4.7 kHz, 5.6 kHz , 6.8 kHz and 8.2 kHz.
The high band offers up to 16 dB of shelving with selectable frequencies at 10 kHz, 12 kHz, 16 kHz, 20 kHz and 24 kHz.
VERSATILE FEATURESFour push-buttons provide added functionality for a wide range of studio applications. The DI button engages the high-impedance line level input for recording direct instrument signals. The EQ button bypasses the unit, enabling you to quickly A/B EQ settings. The 48 V button provides phantom power for condenser microphones. The phase reversal button inverts the phase of a signalラperfect for recording snare bottom mics! Finally, a toggle switch on the right lets you choose between 1200 or 300 ohm microphone impedance for capturing pristine sound with any microphone.
